SASO AC Requirements Update for 2026
SASO announced updated requirements under SASO 2663:2025 and SASO 2874:2025, with enforcement scheduled to begin on 1 December 2026 for local manufacturers and customs according to the published SASO material.
Important: the enforcement date should not be interpreted as meaning every AC already on the Saudi market automatically becomes illegal on that date. Product status depends on the applicable conformity and transition rules.
What buyers should do
Check the current Saudi energy label, verify product information through official SASO resources such as Ta’akad, and avoid treating a retailer's generic “high efficiency” claim as a substitute for the actual label.
