The SERA Electricity Service Guide lists 18 halala/kWh for residential consumption up to 6,000 kWh per month and 30 halala/kWh for consumption above 6,000 kWh.
Why your existing household use matters
An extra 500 kWh from AC can all remain in the lower tier, all fall in the higher tier, or cross the threshold part-way through the month. That is why our calculator asks for estimated household use before adding the AC.
Example: if baseline household use is 5,800 kWh and the AC adds 500 kWh, the first 200 kWh of that increment remains below 6,000 while the remaining 300 kWh is above the threshold.
VAT
The calculator includes an optional 15% VAT estimate. It remains an energy-cost estimate rather than a replica of every item on an actual Saudi Electricity bill.
